Hi, I’m Mia!

I’m passionate about wilderness, adventure, travel, and food. I love to raft, ski, mountain bike, dirtbike, hunt, and ride horses. I’ve built a career around these things, centering my life on activities that generally only fill our “other hours.” I write to educate and share my experiences.

My intention is to generate knowledge around key issues including wilderness and food sourcing. I achieve this through different formats, whether it’s an exciting adventure sport story or an interview with a holistic rancher.

I’m building a tiny house and sharing the journey on social media to inspire people to build their own home. You can find out more on Instagram, @montanatinyhouse.

In addition to full-time multiday river guiding on Idaho’s Salmon River, I’m the Co-Founder of Babes Outside, an organization dedicated to educating and empowering women in the outdoors. I guide multiday rafting and backcountry skiing trips for Babes Outside, as well as teach safety courses in these fields.
